Welcome to SkullSquadron.info!!!! We are a small group of friends who have participated in The Great Midwest Trivia Contest together for roughly 11 years. Some of us have played before our group came together, but the evolution of Skull Squadron started with Trivia 1991. Here is a short time line of our team's history, showing year and team name:
1991-1992: The Killer Communist Martian Immigrants For A Better Universe
1993: Death Gerbils
1994-1997: Ignorance Is Strength
1998-Present: Skull Squadron
In 1993, our team name, "Death Gerbils", was made in haste and against the wishes of the majority of our group. Unfortunately, we had to change our team name from 1991-1992, "The Killer Communist Martian Immigrants For A Better Universe", because the Trivia Masters were unable to write or say it. This inability eventually lead to our point totals being screwed up, and the Trivia Masters being rather uncooperative. After a dismal year as "Death Gerbils", we changed our name to "Ignorance Is Strength", only to learn before Trivia 1998 that that name was taken by a team who came long before us. Out of respect, we choose to rename the team once again to "Skull Squadron", mostly for our love of the classic 1980's cartoon series, Robotech. Since then, we risen in the ranks of elite off campus teams, with the pinnacle of our acheivements being a 4th place tie in Trivia 2001. This year is the first year we've posted a web site, and we'll be updating it from time to time as Trivia 2002 goes on.
